50L truck running in India emit ~200 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent into the atmosphere every year, which is half of total vehicular emissions.
Potential Impact
Immediate reduction in emissions from Indian trucks, without the requirement of any additional infrastructure along with a massive increase in net profits of Indian logistics operators via fuel savings.
Enabling Alternate and Greener Fuels
Hybrids enable the switch to cleaner fuel sources like CNG and biofuels without compromise on power or efficiency, reducing emissions further and lowering fuel imports.
Prototype Progress
bibtya_0.1 is a bench prototype of a series hybrid powertrain that can be run through dynamic load conditions mimicking the real world. The prototype consists of lead-acid battery banks, an engine, pmsm motors and controllers to measure efficiency and performance.
